They begin to believe that they will not be able to sleep without them and so use them every night.
Hypnosis is a state of mind that is both relaxed and at the same time engages the imagination. Dreaming is a state of mind that is relaxing and enagages the imagination too. So being in hypnosis is very close to sleep as an experience.
Self hypnosis therefore is a great way of relaxing the mind and body and then encouraging the imagination to lead to a dream-like state and sleep.
