Help for Multiple Sclerosis

multiple sclerosis london essex Multiple Sclerosis or MS means the scarring of tissue. This tissue known as white matter occurs in the brain and spinal cord. The white matter are the sheaths of myelin and Multiple Sclerosis causes lesions. This in turn reduces the ability of the nerve cells to transmit electrical messages between the brain and spinal cord. MS is an auti-immune disorder where the bodies immune system attacks the body itself.

Multiple Sclerosis Symptoms

As a person with MS you may experience a number of different symptoms. These include a loss of energy and increased fatigue, problems with vision, muscle weakness and muscle spasms, pain sensations, bowel and urinary difficulties.

These symptoms may seem to completely disappear and even though you have MS, at times you may enjoy a period free of these restrictions and limitations. However, events, experiences and other changes can produce a flare-up when the symptoms return. Getting to know the individual causes of a sudden MS attack can help you take more control of your MS.

Mutiple Sclerosis and Hypnosis

As well as using medication, dietary and lifetsyle changes, MS may respon favourably to the use of a relaxation practice such as Self Hypnosis. Pain can respond positively to the influence of hypnosis. Indeed in 2009 a Scottish dentist was shown on television undertaking teeth extraction on a patient who didn't have any anesthesia but only used Self Hypnosis. The patient did not experience any pain throughout the whole procedure.
